Noble has worked on a wide range of Beatrix Potter coin, starting with the first Fifty Pence pieces in this sought after collection, launched in 2016. The reverse for this highly collectible 50p is the work of Royal Mint designer Emma Noble and based on original illustrations. He’ll come to regret this after being chased by the garden’s owner, Mr McGregor. In this 2019 coin he’s seen sneaking under a garden gate, in search of lettuces. The mischievous young rabbit first featured in The Tale of Peter Rabbit, published in 1901, one of picture books written by Potter. The sprawling collection has seen coins in a range of finishes featuring the author and illustrator’s most beloved characters, including several starring her most famous creation: Peter Rabbit. Low mintage: just 2,500 issued! This special edition Peter Rabbit 50p is the latest addition to a set from The Royal Mint, commissioned to celebrate what would have been Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday.
